About the Past Event

This web-based discussion will feature three professionals with project management experience in a moderated discussion. The goal of this discussion is to introduce students to the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification process. The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification validates project leadership experience and expertise in motivating people and teams through all phases of a successful project, using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches to determine which way of working is best for each project, and highlighting the success of a project and its impact on overall strategic organizational goals.

To apply for PMP certification, a project manager must meet certain requirements:

  • Experience (36 or 60 months) leading projects within the past eight years
  • Thirty-five (35) hours of project management education/training

The experience component is detailed and should be completed such that, if audited by the Project Management Institute (PMI), it is verifiable. To obtain PMP certification, a project management must then pass a 180-question exam. The PMP exam was created by project leaders for project leaders, so each test question can be related to real-life project management experiences.

This moderated panel discussion will focus upon:

  • PMP Overview
  • Eligibility
  • Application
  • Exam practice & study tips
