Nick Feamster
Neubauer Professor, Department of Computer Science; CEO, NetMicroscope
Nick Feamster is the Neubauer Professor of Computer Science, founder and co-director of the Internet Equity Initiative, and director of the Network Operations and Internet Security Lab University at the University of Chicago. He is also the CEO and founder of NetMicroscope, a network performance and analytics start up. Nick's work focuses on making the internet work better. He and his teams use machine learning and AI along with empirical network measurements to develop new tools and protocols to understand and improve network performance, security, and privacy. He has worked frequently with federal and municipal organizations—including the FCC and the City of Chicago—to contribute to policies that promote equitable and secure internet access. His start up, NetMicroscope, uses cutting-edge AI and machine learning approaches to assess network performance on specific, real-world applications, such as video streaming.
