About the Past Event

Whether you are considering freelance editing for the first time or looking to build knowledge and experience for career advancement, you will benefit from the expertise of four editing professionals who will provide insights on how to edit on a project-by-project basis for a variety of clients. 

As a freelance editor, you can choose the types of editing projects that interest you, and you can often choose where you work. However, you also must be flexible, adapting your approach, to build your business. Hosted by the Professional Development Certificates Student Advisory Board, this online panel will share best practices for finding editing work, building a network, cultivating clientele, creating a portfolio, marketing editing services, and setting prices. 

Attendees will learn to do the following:

  • Identify techniques to attract clients and to grow a small business.
  • Distinguish general organization and marketing strategies.
