Brooke Grant recently joined the Naval War College Press as an Associate Editor. Prior to this role, she was a labor relations associate and labor and employment attorney at the University of Connecticut. Brooke also served over twenty years as a leader in the United States Coast Guard. While in the Coast Guard, she developed and implemented service-wide personnel policies; managed the Judge Advocate General legal program; advised Coast Guard commanders on an array of legal issues, including international and environmental law, operations, military justice, and ethics; and was directly involved in search and rescue, marine safety, law enforcement, and support operations.

Brooke earned her law degree from Tulane University and is licensed to practice in Connecticut. She holds two master’s degrees, one in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College and one in Education from the College of Staten Island, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Brooke is a Project Management Professional and Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional. She also holds a professional development certificate in Editing from the University of Chicago.

She hopes to leverage her experience to help organizations and authors communicate to achieve impact. When she’s not working, Brooke is happiest adventuring outside with her son, Benjamin.
