Erik Lakes, MSc., MSc.RA.

Erik Lakes has over 15 years of experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry. He is the Senior Director and Head of Data Disclosure and Transparency for BeiGene, Ltd., where he is responsible for trial disclosure and data transparency compliance worldwide. Prior to joining BeiGene, Erik established the first dedicated, centralized transparency team within a Clinical Research Organization for PRA Health Sciences, servicing over 40 pharmaceutical clients worldwide. Erik began his career at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where he helped establish Takeda’s transparency policy and managed operations worldwide.

Beyond his industry work, Erik is serving a second term as a Core Committee Member in the Drug Information Association’s Clinical Trial Transparency Community, as well as supporting multiple Pharmaceutical Users Software Exchange trial disclosure initiatives. He is also the Chair of the Midwest Trial Transparency Working Group with representatives from biopharmaceutical and academic research centers. Erik holds a Master's in Regulatory Affairs from San Diego State University, a Master's in Applied Cognition & Neuroscience, and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience along with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both cum laude, from the University of Texas at Dallas. Erik is also a certificate holder from the Medical Writing & Editing certificate program at The University of Chicago’s Professional Education.
