Leila Emery, MA

Leila Emery (she/her) is a Senior Medical Editor in Epidemiology at RTI Health Solutions (RTI-HS), where she edits clinical study reports, statistical analysis plans, study protocols, and other medical documents and regulatory submissions. In her role as the Vice Chair of the RTI-HS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, she has crafted Inclusive Language guidance for staff, designed and facilitated Inclusive Language trainings, and presented on Inclusive Language best practices in medical communications to the American Medical Writers Association. Before joining RTI-HS, Leila served a Document Review Specialist at PPD, a Managing Editor and Recruitment Manager at Research Square, and an adjunct professor of English-language Composition. She holds a MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Comparative Literature from Smith College.
