Tracy Layney

Tracy brings more than 25 years of experience in HR and organization strategy. She has been consistently recognized as an innovative HR thought leader, including as Chief HR Officer of the Year by HR Today in 2023. Most recently, Tracy was Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Levi Strauss & Co. where she was responsible for the global people strategy, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, talent management, diversity, equity & inclusion, total rewards and HR technology and operations.

Prior to joining LS&Co., she served as SVP and CHRO for Shutterfly, Inc., and spent 10 years at Gap Inc., where she held numerous senior leadership roles in HR. She has also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM Business Consulting Services where she consulted with Fortune 500 clients in the high tech, financial services and retail industries on projects ranging from organization design to strategic change management.

Tracy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She is active in philanthropy and the HR thought leader community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Foundation.
