Eric Chitambar

Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Illinois: Urbana-Champaign

Eric Chitambar leads the Chitambar Quantum Information Group at the University of Illinois, a research group that studies the mathematical theories and practical applications of quantum entanglement and other fundamental quantum phenomena. As Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, his research focuses on quantum communication and protocols, information theory, and optical physics.

He received his BS in physics from the University of Notre Dame and his PhD in physics from the University of Michigan under the direction of Prof. Yaoyun Shi. He served as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Toronto and later at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Canada.
