Yacob Abdi, MS

Yacob Abdi is the Associate Director of Program Operations and Systems. In this role, he provides strategic and operational leadership for the University’s non-credit professional development programs. He oversees program operations, registration, student records, and student account management, while leading initiatives to improve the systems, technology, and processes that support program delivery. His work focuses on creating efficient and scalable operations, maintaining data integrity and compliance, and enhancing the student experience throughout the program lifecycle.

Before joining the University, Yacob held various professional and teaching roles in higher education. He taught at the Illinois Institute of Art for fifteen years and continues to teach at Wilbur Wright College, where he has been an instructor since 2016.

Yacob holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Chicago, an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Networking and Systems Administration, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
