UChicago’s online Project Management: Strategy Essentials Certificate program introduces students to the technical and interpersonal training necessary to master the theory and practice of project management. Learn to better communicate with clients, vendors, and staff to lead routine and nonroutine projects at all levels, across all industries. Students will gain direct experience using appropriate tools and techniques to enhance their understanding of the strategic, leadership, human resources, and operational aspects of project management to successfully execute a project from initiation through completion. Our online project management courses provides rigorous, interactive training for students through the completion of practical projects using tools and techniques learned within the course that can be immediately put into use within their workplace. Additionally, students earn PDUs and critical knowledge needed to sit for any of the national certification exams for project management.

Project Management Certificate Program Structure

Duration: The program can be completed in as few as eight months, allowing you to gain valuable credentials in a relatively short time frame. However, you can also progress at a pace that suits your personal and professional commitments. Courses can range between five and eight weeks in length.

Course Format: Courses are offered online, providing the convenience of learning from anywhere. In addition to weekly synchronous sessions, remote students are expected to read texts and complete assignments between synchronous appointments. Earn a Non-Credit Certificate: Participants will receive a digital course badge after the successful completion of each certificate course, and a certificate of completion once all program requirements are met.

Online Project Management Course Offerings

The Strategy Essentials of Project Management certificate can be earned by completing three core courses plus one elective. Industry professionals who demonstrate five years of experience in a managing role or capacity in project management can receive a waiver for the first core course.
