Onboarding

In the first week, participants will be welcomed to the program by the instructor and provided with an introduction to the online Data Engineering Accelerated Bootcamp, which maps out their learning journey, expectations, and milestones.

Familiarize yourself with the types of data, file formats, data privacy, and security; learn how to collect and transform data; and discover the differences between on-premise and cloud platforms.

Data Engineering Course Experience

Over the next eight weeks, this highly practical course will increase your data engineering through real-world examples. You will discover and leverage the latest industry technologies, tools and trends to thrive in your workplace. The course is followed by a one-week wrap-up to help consolidate key takeaways and allow you to complete and submit any remaining assignments or forum contributions.

Learn to use database management systems and discover the different types of databases and data stores, relational database concepts, and data model design and implementation.

Acquire knowledge of the basics of SQL and the various types of SQL; explore how using SQL can manage, categorize, and summarize data; and learn to query relational databases for insights.

Explore advanced SQL, including database joins and subqueries, and learn how to combine and aggregate data from multiple tables and connect to a database using multiple clients.

Understand data warehousing and reporting; explore business intelligence concepts, such as KPIs and metrics; and learn how to use a dimensional data model for reporting.

Discover how to derive insights from semi-structured and unstructured data using NoSQL databases; document databases and applications; and learn to process, categorize, and summarize data.

Discover graph databases and applications and learn to query highly connected data.

Compare major cloud providers; use Linux to automate processes in GCP; and process and analyze large data sets using Hadoop and BigQuery.

Data Engineering Intensive Experience

Live Sessions, Weeks 10-13

During the three-week intensive program, participants will complete their final projects, discover key insights from industry speakers, and advance their professional development through career coaching and advising sessions. To guide the completion of the final project, participants will attend five instructor-led interactive sessions:
