Master of Science in Threat and Response Management


Program Structure

Students take interdisciplinary courses that combine hands-on experience and training with strategic, creative, and analytical knowledge. Each year, instructors tailor their lectures to the professions and academic interests represented among the class to ensure the content is relevant, current, and meets the students’ academic and professional needs.

  • Executive format courses (Thursday–Sunday)
  • Cohort model
  • Weekend attendance in Chicago only required at the beginning of each quarter
  • No summer classes

The remainder of the quarter is held in a remote format, allowing students to study our curriculum from home. Between class meetings, students work on assignments, readings, and group projects.

Students are required to complete twelve courses:

  • six core courses
  • three elective courses
  • three capstone courses

Emergency Management Degree Concentrations

Students focus their coursework with degree concentrations that explore:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Environmental Security
  • National Security

Time to Completion

Students complete their degree in two academic years. Classes are held over one weekend each month for three consecutive months each academic quarter (Autumn, Winter, Spring).

Core Courses

Students take six core courses.

Elective Courses

Students take three elective courses. 

Capstone Project
